Some countries require the recipient to register with their local payout provider before funds are released. The recipient's local provider (not PayMitto) contacts them, usually by text, phone or email.
- How often: it depends on the country. Some require it only for first-time recipients, others on a set schedule or above a volume threshold. Registration may need to be redone if the recipient's details change.
- Timing: about 7 days is a good rule of thumb, but it varies. In some countries an incomplete registration cancels and returns the transfer.
Countries with a known registration requirement today (not a complete list): Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Jamaica, Japan, South Africa and South Korea.
| Country | What the recipient does | Timing |

| Colombia (Mastercard) | Completes the local provider's registration (text link and call). Expired documents must be updated. | 10 business days, or the transfer is returned or cancelled. Deposit within 2 business days after registration is complete. |
| Colombia (Visa) | First-time recipients complete a one-time Payment Declaration (Declaración de Pago) with their own bank before funds post. | Set by the recipient's bank. |

Large-amount checks aren't registration. Some countries ask for extra documents when transfers to one recipient go over a monthly amount (for example Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay). These are separate from registration.
