This article explains how cash pickup transfers work, what the recipient needs to collect funds, and how to handle ID or name issues at the pickup location.
Cash pickup transfers deliver funds that the recipient collects in cash at a designated pickup location or network. Funds are typically available within 10 minutes of submission. Security reviews, bank holidays, or other factors may cause delays.
Pickup Locations
Depending on the destination, the sender may need to select a specific pickup location during the transfer, or the recipient may collect at any location within the selected network.
Recipients have 30 days to collect funds. After 30 days, the transfer is automatically canceled.
What the Recipient Needs
To collect funds, the recipient must present all of the following:
- The reference number (also called the transfer PIN or RSP number, found on the receipt)
- A valid government-issued photo ID
- The full name of the sender
- The full name of the recipient
- The expected transfer amount
Expired ID or Name Mismatch
If the recipient’s ID is expired, they must use an alternative form of identification, such as a passport.
The name submitted on the transfer must match exactly the way it appears on the recipient’s ID. If the names do not match, the recipient may not be able to collect the funds. In that case, the transfer must be canceled and resubmitted with the correct information. Transfer details cannot be changed after submission.
Pickup Limits
Cash pickup limits vary by country and payout partner.
