This article explains what changes can be made to a submitted transfer, when cancellation is possible, and what causes a transfer to be canceled or rejected.
Transfers Cannot Be Amended
Transfer details cannot be changed after submission. To correct an error, the transfer must be canceled and resubmitted with the correct information.
When Cancellation Is Eligible
Some transfers complete instantly and cannot be canceled. A transfer is eligible for cancellation only if one of the following conditions is true:
- The sender is still within the 30-minute Dodd-Frank hold window and cancels through the SDK's Transaction History screen (SDK version 9.0 or later).
- The transfer is a bank account or cash pickup transfer that has not yet been delivered to the recipient's account or collected at the pickup location.
How to Request Cancellation
To request cancellation on behalf of a sender, email support+[CLIENT]@paymitto.com or open a ticket with the PayMitto Tier 2 support team via the Portal with the following:
- Sender name
- Transfer amount
- Transfer date
- Recipient name
- Transfer reference number
Why a Cancellation May Not Succeed
When a cancellation is requested, Tier 2 contacts the network partner, who then contacts the payout partner. This process is not immediate. If funds have already been paid to the recipient or released to the payout partner by the time the request is processed, the transfer can no longer be canceled. Tier 1 will be notified once an outcome is confirmed.
Why a Transfer May Be Canceled or Rejected
A transfer may be canceled or rejected by the network for any of the following reasons:
- The recipient's account is held in a different currency than the transfer was sent in.
- Incorrect account details were provided.
- Required compliance information was not provided within the deadline.
- Suspected fraud.
- Card or bank-level restrictions on the recipient's account.
If a sender believes their transfer was incorrectly rejected, the recipient may need to contact their bank or card issuer to investigate any restrictions on their account.
